Forests For All Forever

International Day of Forests and Sustainability

21 March is the International Day of Forests. We are particularly proud of our certification by the Forest Stewardship Council(FSC) on days like this. The International Day of Forests was established by the United Nations in 2012, to acknowledge the environmental importance of forests for our planet’s future and commit to using forest resources sustainably. This year’s theme is “Forests and sustainable production and consumption”, which relates to the printing and packaging industry, since we use paper in production.

Tandym Print: Your Green Print Company

On all topics relating to sustainability, there is a choice. If we are mindful of the impact that our choices have on the environment, we can choose sustainable options that help reverse climate change. We are proud to say that as a business Tandym Print has made sustainable choices and our sustainability journey provides our clients with sustainable options as a result, most notably the ability to produce FSC® certified printed products and FSC® certified printed paper packaging. Tandym is proud to be your green print company.

About the FSC, the International Day of Forests and Sustainability

The FSC® is closely aligned to the The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those linked to the sustainable consumption, production, and use of natural resources. Sustainable consumption and production aren’t possible unless consumers and producers make sustainable choices and hold each other to account. The FSC® through its comprehensive system offers both sides a credible way of demonstrating their sustainable choices. It provides supply chain integrity – through the ability to trace raw materials to responsibly managed forests and verify the integrity of production processes. It also provides peace of mind for consumers – when they purchase products that carry the FSC® mark they know that the packaging or the product is sustainable for our forests.

According to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), “Consumers are worried about climate change. They are aware of the link between responsible management and the preservation of forests – one of the world’s most precious resources. The role of forests in mitigating climate change is also widely recognised. Consumers expect companies to be a part of the solution, and to sell products made with sustainable and responsibly sourced materials.  Environmentally conscious consumers rely on Ecolabels, such as Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) to  provide the means for informed pre-purchase decision making, guiding their purchasing habits towards products manufactured from responsible sources.”
